Capture the menu by following the steps to capture the entire screen, capture a window (the menu is treated like a window), or capture a selected portion of the screen. Markup, share, and save After you take a screenshot, a thumbnail of the screenshot appears briefly in the lower-right corner of your screen. Presently, I use Snipping Tool and Jing much more than Print Screen. The problem was always that Print Screen would copy the whole desktop, which is particularly frustrating when you have multiple monitors. Soon after starting as a developer, I was told that pressing Alt + Prt Scr would copy only the active window to the clipboard. The screen captures will print automatically when the required keys are pressed. Step Hold down the 'Control' key (Ctrl) and the 'Print Screen' key to capture a screen shot of the full desktop. And if you hit Alt + Print Screen, it'll screenshot the active window! Oh, and you know what else? There's a built-in app called Snipping Tool with even more screenshot functionality, and it's. In other words, pressing ALT + Print Screen takes a screenshot of only the active window. Once you press ALT + Print Screen, a screenshot of the active window is copied to Windows Clipboard; you need to open up your favorite image editor (e.g. Microsoft Paint), paste the screenshot, and save it -- just like you would do if you used just Print.
